I have known my entire life that my purpose is to help others. I attended high school at Sheldon High School here in Sacramento. There I became a part of the Students Helping Student conflict management/resolution team, Student Government, and Friday Night Live programs. I joined each of these programs to help to make the experience of high school enjoyable for my fellow students. High school years are also where I learned the power of my touch. I would spend my spare time giving friends back massages during lunch period and after school. I enjoyed seeing the immediate benefits that I was giving my “clients.”
After graduating from Sheldon, I went immediately into the workforce along with attending college. I spent years working for the Sacramento County Office of Education working with teens. After that, I was hired by a local radio station that I had been interning for since high school. I ended up in that high stress industry for ten years. This is where my understanding of my clients busy schedules comes from.
I went on to attend and graduate as a Massage Therapist and Health Educator from the prestigious National Holistic Institute. I am trained in both Swedish and Shiatsu modalities. At NHI I studied Kinesiology (the medical study of muscles), sport massage techniques, spa treatments, practice management skills and much, much more. After graduating, I became certified through the California Massage Therapy Council and opened Xavier Massage with the full intent of helping other with a therapeutic touch. Today, I am the owner and senior therapist at Xavier Massage as well as Massage Therapy Ambassador for National Holistic Institute where I share my experiences in the Massage Therapy industry with future therapist and help them on their path to accomplishing their goal of becoming a Massage Therapist.
